Bethany Land Institute forms leaders in Integral Ecology through several programs, including the Certificate in Integral Ecology (2 years), the Junior Certificate in Integral Ecology for P7 candidates (3 years), and the Integral Ecology Practitioners Program (2 years). Inspired by Pope Francis' 2015 encyclical Laudato Si', BLI empowers local students and communities to combat three major challenges in Uganda: environmental degradation, food insecurity, and poverty.

Founded in 2012 by Father Emmanuel Katongole, Father Cornelius Ssempala, and Father Anthony Rweza, BLI is located on a 400+ acre campus in Nandere, Luweero District. We recognize the inherent connection between the cry of the Earth and the cry of the poor, and our program equally recognizes the importance of education, environmentalism, and sound economics.

We also run Outreach Programs (from one week to one year) for groups such as church leaders, and we are developing cohort-based short programs (about four months, typically Nov–Feb). Program details and schedules may evolve as new cohorts are announced.
